We recently completed a custom-designed phone case for the TCL 20s — a project that benefited from both our design flexibility and creative expression.
The case combines a flexible, impact-resistant TPU 95A shell with a rigid, colorful PLA backplate — a pairing that balances protection and personality. TPU 95A was chosen for its excellent shock absorption and grip, ensuring the device stays snug and secure during daily use. The PLA backplate, on the other hand, provides structural rigidity and a visually dynamic surface with lots of room for color and creative expression — all while maintaining a seamless fit.
The backplate is interchangeable, allowing for quick swaps with new designs. Our advanced 3D printing technologies enabled us to create both simple mono-colour and intricate multi-colour designs – perfect for customizing a project to your artistic taste.
This wasn’t just about printing two parts — it was about integrating them with precision, using 3D printing’s strengths. Parametric design allowed for flawless alignment of the TPU and PLA sections and a tailored fit for the phone. Additive manufacturing eliminated the need for complex molds or assembly processes. The result? A case that’s not only functional and durable, but also artistically personalized — proof that 3D printing can deliver both performance and artistry.
